Illustration Painting

Painting for my illustration class. Some critiques were I need to make highlights brighter and shadows darker, and some compositional/perspective issues in the right half of the picture. Wanted it to be worm's eye view but somehow I couldn't seem to draw the guy in that perspective. Anyway, just if you wanted to see how I'm doing in my illustration class.

Cool painting. I would make the bullet more defined and solid. Might help to use a straight edge for the sides and sharpen the rendering of the shadows and highlights.

Why is there blood on the gun tip, makes no sense, I want my money back!! Seriously though, they look very nice, but I agree with brian, the bullet is the focal point of and needs to be more in focus and brought out of the picture. Using bright highlights would do it.
